Who doesn’t remember being a kid, looking forward to going to McDonald’s for a Happy Meal? The best part about it was the toys, always one thing after another, and often better quality than you’d think. Here are some of our favorite memories:
A whole generation went to McDonald’s and pretended to be Indiana Jones.
This was a great little toy kit for little girls.
Two great franchises that were great together!
Too bad MickeyD couldn’t have added a Michael Jordan figure as well!
Literally, toy food. They really pushed the toy Happy Meal, for instance.
It never was hard to imagine Scrooge McDuck bringing the kids to McDonald’s.
For a good long spell, there was almost nothing as hot as the Beanie Babies.
Marvel Action Figures
It sure was great to come to McDonald’s with a few comics and pick these up with your Happy Meal – back when a kid could still afford ‘a few comics’.
The Mighty Ducks
These alien ducks in hockey pucks were SO big in Southern California.
The Active Garfield
Garfield always seemed a little grumpy for McDonald’s. Maybe we figured a Happy Meal might brighten him up. It worked on us.
The movies, the cartoons… it was a great time to be a Bat Fan. McDonald’s jumped into the fight for justice in Gotham City.
These were so cute… Well, back then we were all a lot cuter!
